Why re-design?
The year was 2015 and the Pixar website looked like this (pictured above).
And judging from the looks of it and the experience of using it, as a team we have identified three things wrong with the website.
Outdated
The website looked like something straight out of the 1990’s
Responsiveness
Definitely not mobile or tablet responsive
Branding
The website did not
reflect Pixar’s brand
The Mobile Application
The website has been built from the ground up with the ‘mobile first strategy’ to really get that fast browsing experience

Information Architecture
A breakdown of the website which not only feature information about Pixar’s films, but also other products
The Website
Pixar is one of the most defining companies that shaped millions of childhoods. The wonderful experience of their animations, which all started with the succesful Toy Story. We decided to bring the magic to the web.

The Lightyear App
Zapp! Boom! Kapoww! We all did it, being the Buzz Lightyear of the family. Shooting at your brothers, sisters and friends with your lazer light. We are proud to introduce you the Lightyear App for Apple watch. The futuristic user interface is all Buzz Lightyear inspired. The green gradients. The red wrist lazer. Get back in the days by buzzing your friends wrist from miles away.

Takeaways
Learnings
Pixar had a very outdated website at the time (2015) as they released two movies that year: Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur
Pixar had a lot of content online that could have been featured on their website but weren’t. Information about their films and artists behind them
There were a lot of potential services that Pixar could offer, such as renting movies online
Next Steps
Pitch to Pixar our concept and ideas
More user research to know whether the features and services we conceptualized would be liked by users
Refine our prototypes and potentially work with a copywriter to draft text for all the content
